According to Kotak Securities, promoters share pledging in some selected companies that reached more than 90 percent in the March quarter. This is a matter of great concern for the market.

According to the declining stock level of selected Indian companies reached new heights in the March quarter, while many others canceled their mortgage shares,

High Share Pledging by Promoters is not a good sign for the market, a fall in the market can be a detriment to stocks and their shareholders.

As per data available on BSE, the total value of shares pledged by promoters was Rs 2.25 lakh crore on April 26, which was equivalent to 1.60 percent of the total market capitalization of BSE 500 shares

Can you invest in such stock? 

You cannot afford to invest in stocks where share pledging is more than 15% and pledging is in increasing order every quarter. 

You can invest in pledging shares when the share pledging is in decreasing order from quarter to quarter.
